Visa Information

To enter the Republic of Korea, you should have valid passport (at least 6 months validity) and Korean Visa. However, nationals of 115 who want to visit Korea temporarily are permitted to enter without a visa according to a mutual visa-waiver agreement (69 countries, Table 1) or in accordance with principles of reciprocity and national interest (46 countries, Table 2)

Nationals of visa waiver countries can enter Korea without a visa as long as the purpose of their visit is tourism or temporary visit. If they want to engage in profitable activities such as employment, they must apply for a Korean visa suitable for their purpose.

Invitation Letter

Tips for Invitation Letter

  • We would like to inform you that the Organizing Committee will be pleased to provide an official invitation letter to those who need it for Visa application to enter the Republic of Korea.
  • The Letter is not a commitment on the part of the organizer to provide any financial support. This request will be processed as a part of the online registration system.
  • The official invitation letter, to be used for application of visa, will be available ONLY to those who have completed the registration payment.

In this regard, please find the following tips:

Invitation Letter at the UAA 2020 website

Please access 'My Page' with your registered ID (e-mail) and Password and click on ‘Invitation Letter’ to print out a copy of the original invitation letter in color.

Notarized Invitation Letter

  • If you need to receive a notarized invitation letter for visa application, you may request it to the Secretariat(reg@uaa2020.org) by no later than September 10th
  • Upon your request, the notarized letter will be sent by airmail within a week after confirmation of your full payment. Additionally, USD 50 will be charged for the notary service and EMS, and you will be required to make the payment by wire transfer.

* Please check with the Korean Embassy in your country on whether you need a notarized letter of invitation for visa issuance.
